ERIN HUNEKE
OBOE - ENGLISH HORN - BAROQUE OBOE

Erin Huneke (Britton) is an oboist based out of Lawrence, Kansas. Originally from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, she earned a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory and a Masters of Music from Northwestern University. Her primary teachers have been Alex Klein, Robert Walters, and Scott Hostetler.
Erin has spent two summers as a Young Artist at the Round Top Festival Institute in Round Top, Texas, where in 2014 she performed as part of the Best of Chamber Music Concert. She has also performed with the Orford Academy Orchestra at the Centre d'Arts Orford in Québec.
Erin performed on tour with the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble in New York City, and was an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for the 2014-2015 season.
Erin also plays Baroque oboe, which she studied with Kathryn Montoya, Gonzalo Ruiz, and Marc Schachman as part of the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute.
As a performer and teacher, Erin is active throughout the Lawrence, Kansas City, and Topeka areas, including performances with the Kansas City Symphony, Musica Sacra, the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, the Wichita Symphony, and the Lawrence Community Orchestra. In 2019, along with colleagues Celeste Johnson and Margaret Marco, Erin performed at the IDRS convention in the debut of their chamber group, the Kassia Trio.
Erin is an active teacher in the Lawrence and Kansas City Areas, teaching within local school districts and maintaining a diverse private studio. Her students' accomplishments include high ratings at state solo competitions, selection in John Phillip Sousa, KMEA District, and State honors ensembles, and acceptance into the music program at Washburn University.
In addition to her music degrees, Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Oberlin College.
